What We Publish

AllPoets publishes both poetry and essay features year-round. Submissions are free, and open to anyone in the world, of any age! We will accept work that has been shared on social media or in local communities, but we will not accept work that has been previously published in a book or magazine.

Simultaneous submissions are encouraged—this means that you may send your work to other publications at the same time as you submit to us. Just let us know using our contact form if your work is accepted somewhere else.

AI-generated or AI-adjusted submissions are never tolerated. Our writing is always by humans, for humans.

Response Time

You should hear back from AllPoets about your submission within six months. If you have not heard back from us in six months, feel free to contact us and check in.

Poetry Guidelines

Here at AllPoets, we believe that good poetry is polished in sound, imagery, and form. We are looking for poems that exhibit these three things and experiment with them in new ways. For more information on what this means, you can read our explanation here. Or to get an idea of what we’re looking for, read some of our previously published poems here.

Please send us up to five poems in one .doc, .docx, or .pdf file. We enjoy poems of any length, style, and topic. But as AllPoets is a community for both adults and children, please do not send us work that is inappropriate for children. We will not publish any work that we believe unsuitable for children.

Prose Guidelines

At AllPoets, we publish regular essay features related to the topics of literature, teaching, and, of course, poetry. If you have thoughts to share on this topic, whether personal experience or recent research, we would love to read them! For examples of what we’re looking for, you can read some of our previously published essay features here.

Please send us one essay as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.

Publication

If we accept your piece for publication, you will be asked to review and revise your work with one of our editors. We are committed to making every person in our community a better writer! Usually these revisions consist of small syntax changes, although we may sometimes suggest more serious revision. All revisions are ultimately at the discretion of the poet.

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the funds to pay contributors, but we will happily promote you on our Instagram account!
